How do I know if I have a non-union?
Non-unions are otherwise known as pseudarthrosis, which means "false joint", so it is a fracture that does not heal within the usual amount of time and in the usual manner.
This clinical condition must be diagnosed by an orthopaedic surgeon, preferably an expert in this area, based on the patient's symptoms (for example, the sensation of unnatural movement in some bone segments) and the clinical data that can be detected during the visit (for example, preternaturality and/or over-abundant callus) and supported with targeted radiological exams such as specific X-rays and/or segmental CT.
