I am passionate about my work. I was a student at the 5th Division Children's Surgery department at the Gaetano Pini Institute in Milan from February 1978 through October 1980.
During my time there I focused particularly on experimental vascular microsurgery in the Research Section (research financed by CNR) and experimental research on the application of fibrin glue as a biological suture in nerve surgery.
In my career I have always supported study with research and innovative surgery because I firmly believe that we should stay up-to-date on new techniques and new materials and contribute to the evolution of orthopaedics and traumatology in Italy and Europe.
I founded ESTROT (EUROPEAN SOCIETY OF TISSUE REGENERATION IN ORTHOPAEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY) of which I am the President and whose registered office is in the COR Division - of which I am the director - at the Gaetano Pini Orthopaedic Institute. The European Society is recognised by EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology).
I am the President of CIO (Italian Club of Osteosynthesis), a highly specialised society of the SIOT (Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology) that is the primary point of reference for Traumatology in Italy.
I am the Director of the UOC (Complex Operating Unit) and the COR (Reparative Orthopaedic Surgery) and Risk Manager at the Gaetano Pini Institute in Milan.
A speaker, teacher and organiser of high level conferences in Italy and throughout the world, I have written numerous publications and developed innovative studies. With my team I developed surgical solutions that use the latest biotechnology and innovative prosthetic implants recognised for effectiveness on the European and international level.
